OldStyle Hide`N`Seek

Classic Hide`N`Seek ported from CS 1.6 to CS2, with working Gstrafe and Double duck.

About the mode

The classic Hide`N`Seek

OldStyle Hide`N`Seek is a port of the old Counter-Strike 1.6 mode to CS2. Classic hiding and chasing, built around map knowledge, precise jumps and movement skills.

CT — chase and catch

Counter-terrorists carry only a knife. Find and catch every terrorist, eliminating them with knife hits before the round ends. There are no guns or purchases: follow your opponent’s jumps or find a shortcut.

T — escape and survive

Terrorists receive two flashbangs and one frost grenade. Their knife cannot damage CT, so fighting back with it will not save you. Escape across rooftops, ledges and ladders, blind pursuers and buy time with frost.

How a round works

CT are frozen for the first 10 seconds, giving T a head start to spread out and find a position. Then the chase begins. CT must catch everyone; T must survive until the round ends. You do not have to stay hidden: a good route and a precise jump can save you.

Using your grenades

Flashbangs blind CT; T are immune to flashes. Frost freezes everyone near the blast for 3 seconds, including you and your teammates, so stay outside its radius. Right-click while holding a grenade, before starting a throw, to switch between timed and impact detonation. Left-click to throw.

Familiar movement

Gstrafe and Double duck work: familiar CS 1.6 techniques remain part of the game. Combine movement techniques, choose your routes and escape the chase.

Gstrafe

Gstrafe (Ground Strafe / Countstrafe) builds speed on the ground through short ducks and strafes. Alternate A and D, turn the mouse in sync and keep the duck rhythm to gain speed and escape a chase. The technique originated in CS 1.6’s GoldSrc physics.

Double Duck / Silent Run

Double Duck / Silent Run uses quick, repeated ducks while moving. In CS 1.6 it lets players run without footsteps while retaining normal running speed instead of slow walking. The brief ducks also move the player model up and down, making it harder to aim at.

Classic CS 1.6 bind: put duck on the mouse wheel and scroll in short bursts while running.
