Rules

The terms given are for a first offence. A repeat raises the term, and a severe breach goes straight to the top step. A suspension closes both the site chat and the forum.

Play

7 rules

The rules of the round. Everything else is up to the server administration.

Cheats, third-party programs, macros

30 days

Refusing a check counts as using them.

Abusing map or plugin bugs

up to 7 days

We want to hear about a hole you found in the “Bugs” section of the forum — that earns thanks, not a term.

Deliberately helping the infected

up to 7 days

Throwing the round, walking into a bite, opening a shelter to your own team’s cost.

Blocking passages for your own side

up to 24 hours

Idling for earnings

up to 24 hours

Standing in a corner for a whole round to farm money and experience is not playing.

Advertising other servers in game

7 days

Evading a suspension

the evaded term starts again

Talk

6 rules

The site chat, the forum and voice in game — one set of rules.

Insults and harassment

up to 3 hours

Going after someone’s family — up to 8 hours.

Spam and flooding

up to 3 hours

Politics, religion, nationality

up to 3 hours

This place is about the outbreak, not about that.

Advertising and begging

up to 7 days

Selling in-game things for real money

up to 30 days

An offensive name or avatar

up to 24 hours

Lifted as soon as the name or avatar is changed.

Account

3 rules

The site account and the Steam account are the same person.

Handing your account to someone else

up to 30 days

Progress, unit and purchases are tied to the Steam ID.

Inflating progress

up to 30 days

Empty rounds with friends, bots, arranged infections.

Passing yourself off as staff

up to 7 days

Administration

4 rules

What the staff may do and how to appeal a decision.

Moderator

chat and forum

Removes messages and suspends ordinary players. Cannot suspend staff.

Administrator

the whole site

All of that plus access to the player list and the requests.

Appeal

forum, “Bugs” section

An argument with a moderator in chat settles nothing: open a thread on the forum with a link to the entry in “Punishments”.

Every suspension is visible on the “Punishments” page: who, whom, what for and how long.

Questions

Common questions about the rules and punishments

Where can I see what I was suspended for?
On the “Punishments” page: it shows the reason, the term and who made the decision. The entry appears immediately.
Is a suspension in game the same as one on the site?
Yes, it is one account. A suspended player writes neither in the site chat nor on the forum; reading stays open.
I found a bug. Is that a violation?
Using it is. Telling us about it in the “Bugs” section of the forum is the opposite — it helps the project.
How do I appeal a decision?
With a thread on the forum linking to the entry in “Punishments”. The administration handles it; arguing in chat leads nowhere.
